Ah-very good!
You can certainly take an expensive water taxi if you’d like but the vaporetto/bus combo is cheap and easy
When you arrive at the train station you should buy a 24 hour vaporetto pass if you plan to ride the vaporetto
It’s a true 24 hour pass and will save you a lot over individual tickets
Be sure to validate before boarding-each and every use
( flights that leave early am present a problem but that’s not the case for you)
Were you able to find some threads about transportation in Venice?
Here is one-read Aussie’s post
https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/italy/venice-transportation-to-hotel-ala-from-sanmarco-airport
Also check your hotel’s website
They usually include directions on how to reach
You’ll want good walking directions from nearest vaporetto stop
No fun getting lost while dragging luggage
( ok to get lost in Venice otherwise;) )
