Our flight from Philadelphia arrives at Malpenza at 11am on a monday (for us, that will be about 5 am!), after a flight change in Brussels, so we will be pretty tired. It looks like a grueling trip to get to Ferrara, our ultimate destination first Malpenza to Milan Central, then to Verona or Bolgna, and then to Ferrara. Can you help with these questions: 1. Would you advise staying in Milan or near Malpenza that first day/night? 2. What is the best way to get to Ferrara thereafter?
Thanks much! I can't believe this trip is actually falling into place.
We usually choose to keep going that first day and get to our final destination. It's only a couple of hours by train from Milan to Bologna and then 30 minutes on to Ferrara - and there are tons of trains between Bologna and Ferrara. If you do choose to stay in Milan, I'd stay near the central train station so you can see a little bit of Milan that afternoon and/or the next morning.
