Traveling from Manarola to Florence and fast train to Venice ss. Lucia

This is my first trip to Italy. I am traveling to Venice from Manarola Saturday morning November 4. I need to book the high speed train separately due to the intercity 505 being sold out for my desired time frame. I arrive in Firenze at 11:33. I can catch the a high speed train at Firenze S. M. Novella to Venezia S. Lucia at 12:20. Is there a place to have lunch during the 40 minute time frame? I had planned to buy tickets online soon. Any words of caution or wisdom on buying the trip from Manarola to Firenze SMN and then the separate high speed train trip to Venezia SL this far in advance? I had planned to buy the most basic tickets available for two seniors or the you and me option.

Thank you,

Buy only the FI. SMN-VE. SL portion on the Frecciarossa departing at 12:20 (if that is what you want), then make your way to Florence using Regional trains (you can purchase on the spot at Manarola, no need to reserve ahead. Regional trains offer no discounts and can't run out of seats, you just stand up if no seats are available, like on a bus)..

Be aware that if you miss the FR in Florence, then your pre-purchased discounted ticket is useless, hence leave early enough to avoid that possibility.

If you are willing to pay full price on the Frecciarossa, you can by everything on the spot in Manarola.

Thank you for your response. Does paying full price mean waiting until I arrive at the station? I read that workers often strike on Fridays. I will be traveling on a Saturday. Do I need to be concerned about strikes? Thank you.

Trains do not sell out months in advance. If they regularly did, they would be useless. What you are seeing is that bookings for that train have not opened yet. But maybe indeed book the Frecciarossa now, and then sometime in October book the rest. Or book everything in October.
