Traveling from Lake Orta to Milan

We (party of two) will be finishing the Village Italy tour in Lake Orta on June 4. We want to spend a day in Milan after the tour, so we want to depart Lake Orta that morning. I have already booked one night in Milan.

What is the best way to get there? If it's by taxi, we're willing to split the ride with another party.

Is GoOpti an option? I have used them before (to go from Ljubljana to the Venice airport) and they are very good, but I don't know if they go anywhere besides airports. We would be traveling to the city, not the airport.

When I took the tour, the guide arranged transportation for those who needed to get to Milan or the airport. You had to pay for it but she grouped people together and made all the arrangements.

I took this tour last summer (2022). I too had reserved a hotel for one night in Milan. Our tour guide collected everyone's plans post tour and made transportation arrangements accordingly. Some took private car service to the airport. A few of us shared a private car into Milan (driver dropped us off directly in front of our hotels). Some got rides to the Milan train station for their onward journeys.
Others stayed on one more nigh in Orta and the guide arranged for transportation for them too.

Hi! It looks like I’m on the same tour.

I’m also planning to stay 2 nights in central Milan starting June 4. I do hope that combined transportation can be arranged.

My vote is with Mary and Frank as this is how my VI guide handled it as well. I think it's because the transportation situation from Orta is complicated. For both Al and Lori - I say don't worry about onward transport until you get to your tour and meet your guide. They will work this out for you.

This is a wonderful tour! I know you all with have a super time!

Lori, looking forward to meeting you! I have heard nothing but good about this tour. This will be our sixth RS tour, but first since 2019. We were still skeptical about traveling by plane in 2022.

I am going on same tour in the fall ending in Lake Orta. I am planning on going on by train to Florence from Milan Centrale by high speed train and hope to book as soon as dates are available but need a better idea of when I could be at train station. For those who have taken an end of tour ride into Milan, preferably the train station, would I likely be there before noon.? Hoping to catch a 1 pmish train if I can snag a high speed. Is that realistic?
