Hello, We are traveling from Florence to Rome on Monday May 22nd. We have not booked our train yet. Is it possible to get from Florence to Rome, Check in to our hotel near the Colosseum and still make it to the Vatican for St. Peters, Museums and the Sistine chapel in the same day. Contemplating the Happy hour tour. I'm having a hard time with the train schedule and how long it will take.
Sure
Fast train takes 1 hr 37 min
There are trains leaving Florence about every 20-30 minutes
You might want to take a cab from your hotel to St Peters and start there- closes at 7 so can’t be seen after your Happy Hour tour.
Use the Trenitalia site

Station names are:
Firenze SM Novella
Roma Termini
Unfortunately, I think the Happy Hour Tour is offered only on Fridays.
Tickets for the Vatican Museums are selling out very early now, so I'd suggest checking what's available on the days you'll be in Rome and purchasing a ticket ASAP. I see Happy Hour Tour tickets available for Friday, May 26, if that date would work for you.
