Desperately seeking advice for travel from Bellagio 9/24 then onto Venice 9/29, ending up in Milan 10/4. Bernina Express to Glacier? Or travel to Lugano and go that route SBB not sure if this includes Gotthard base tunnel? Haven’t even looked at trip to Venice.

How are you getting to Bellagio to begin with?
If you take the fastest route from Lugano, you will use the Gotthard Base Tunnel, unless you specify via Göschenen.
Curious about the order of travel. Seems logical order would be Grindelwald to Bellagio to Milan to Venice, or reverse.

You’re right Sam we were hoping to meet up with friend in Bellagio and Switzerland that drove our decision. We already have accommodation so order is what it is. We are flying in and out of Milan
I believe the SBB web said the tunnel would be closed til end of August if not longer

The website says at least until August 16. It is from a derailed freight train in the middle of the tunnel. I would suspect it will certainly be operational by your travel date as it is a critical piece of Swiss infrastructure. Going from Grindelwald to Venice, it will be quicker regardless to go to Milan via Spiez then a train to Venice.
