Have any of you traveled by train with a dog in Italy? Is there a definite policy? I have all the usual paperwork.
Many thanks,
Rachelle
Here is some info from the different Italian rail sites:

How long will you be there? Do you plan on getting an EU Pet Passport upon arrival? ESA's are not recognized as a service animal in Europe - your dog will be considered a pet. Fortunately Europe is a pretty pet friendly place - be sure your hotel allows pets.
Thanks for your kind reply. I will be there 2 weeks. I have a pet friendly hotel in Liguria for first week. It's for second week train travel that I am concerned, going to Trieste, maybe Bologna.
Best,
Rachelle
Rachelle,
As a writer of light, situational humor, "Traveling By Train in italy with a Small Pomeranian Emotional Support Dog" is the title of a story I'd kill to write.
PLEASE document your travels and experiences in Europe with your dog! Seriously, this is a story that will just write its self.

Thanks for your kind note Mike. I plan to do that!
All the best,
