Traveling by train from Rome to Lucca then onto Cinque Terre

I would like suggestions of day trips by train or bus from Lucca in May staying 4or 5 nights. We like bike riding on flat quiet streets or paths. We plan on traveling to Cinque Terre for 3-4 nights to do some hiking & see the sights.

Florence, Sienna are easily reached. Pisa is fun . We were there in late June and took the train to Via Reggio- sea-side resort town which was lovely.
