Travel to Val Gardena

Hello all,
We are looking to visit the villages of Selva, Ortisei and Santa Cristina in the Val Gardena.
Can anyone recommend special sites within these towns to visit, places to eat - for after we do some hiking nearby.
thanks, Bill

There is a wood-working museum in Otisei that I enjoyed. Also some outdoor sculptures you'll encounter as you wander around.

That is hands-down our favorite place in all of Italy. Stay in Ortisei, the most charming village with the most options and restaurants. Lots of hiking options and a lift system that will amaze you. No car required. Once you are there (train to Bolzano, bus or taxi to Ortisei) your lodging will give you a pass for the excellent bus system that will take you all around the area. You will need to buy a pass or tickets for the lifts.

Some options in Ortisei: Hotel Garni Walter (small family run hotel), Villa Aurelia (B&B with apartments, too), Residence Astoria (apartments), Hotel Albion (4-star resort outside of town with a handy shuttle), and of course many many more. These are just my favorites.

There are not special sites so much as fabulous scenery and hiking, both easy and challenging. I will PM you as well.
