Has anyone taken the ferry from Formia to the Pontine Islands? I want to go to Ventotene where my grandfather came from. I will be traveling to Rome for a few days before going to Sardinia for a week. I am trying to figure out if I have time to go down there for a day or 2.

I've been to Ponza, but it was so long ago that I don't remember anything about the ferry. I do recall that they were rolling up the sidewalks when we arrived, which was probably in late September. The season may be a bit longer now.

Use this, it gives you both ferry companys.
Prices run $20-35.

Thank you for the ferry info. I do know that Ventotene will particularly be quiet. And very small.
