What is the best way to get from Rome to Praiano and the Amalfi Coast, without a car.? We will be there for one week and were wondering if it is necessary to have a car while in Praiano to see the sights in the area? Advice appreciated!
High speed train from Roma Termini to Napoli Centrale
Circumvesuviana train (commuter) from Napoli C. to Sorrento (or to Meta)
SITA Bus from Sorrento to Praiano
There are buses going up and down the Amalfi Coast from Sorrento to Amalfi (Praiano is in between) all day.
The only problem is if you want to venture out of Praiano in the evenings for dinner. Bus service doesn’t operate all night, so you might be limited in your night choices without a car. If you don’t care, then you can do without a car.
