We want to go directly to porta portese market on Sunday morning. We will arrive by car from northern Rome (Soriano nel Cimino). I was thinking we should park near a Metro stop (maybe campi sportivi) in order to avoid traffic. What is the best way to get to the market after we park? Steve suggests bus 75 from termini station or tram 8 from Piazza Venezia to Viale Trastevere. I guess we could take Metro to the station.

The Metro does not go to Piazza Venezia nor to Campi Sportivi. Google Maps suggests the train from Campi Sportivi to the Metro at Flaminia as one option, followed by the Bus H. Plug your proposed parking location and Porta Portese into Google Maps and look at the options for Sundays.
Since it is Sunday. you might be brave and drive around Rome to the West and park here https://www.garagetrastevere.com/index_eng.html. Open 24x7, reasonable hourly rates. Note, I have not parked there as I never drove when we lived in Rome, but I think it a reasonable option on a Sunday as traffic is light. It appears to me that it is outside of the ZTL, but just barely.
When you park, secure your valuables on your persons and leave nothing in the car. No easy-to-pick pockets or bags as this market is notorious.
