Travel to Italy after a French Long Stay Visa

I am hoping to travel to Italy on June the 25th for approximately 7 to 10 days.

I am currently in France on a 6-month long stay visa - this expires on June 4th.

I hold a UK passport.

Am I legally eligible to enter Italy on June the 25th or will I need to to remain in the UK for 90 days before entering Italy?

A bit confused about this and would like clarity before booking flights and accommodation.

I have tried contacting the Italian Embassy with no response.

Any help much appreciated!

Probably the French Embassy in London, or some immigration office near you should be able to tell you what your options are at the end of the Visa. To be honest, I am not clear on it, some seem to propose that you then have 90 in 180 days, some say you must exit and reenter to get 90 in 180 days, others say you need to leave.

Thanks for your response. Yes, the information out there seems inconsistent. I've tried contacting the French, British and Italian Embassies all to no avail!

I'm not on the 90 day entry etc I'm currently on a 6 month long stay visa which I've heard is possibly totally separate from the 90/180 day in and out scenario....
