This fall we are taking a cruise after staying in Venice for a few days. I would like to have a water taxi pick us up at the hotel and transfer us to the port where the ship is located. Too early to know which port. Any suggestions on who to contact ?

You could also ask your hotel for recommendations
ETA
As below-you’ll need to know which port
Several are too far from Venice
There is a port in Venice that services smaller ships, if that one then yes, you might be able to get a water taxi, basically any service in Venice. These ports may be Fusina, or Maghera, both on the mainland, some small boats may also still dock in Venice proper.
However, if a larger ship then you might be sailing out of Trieste, some 100 miles away, or Chioggia, 30 miles away, or even Ravenna, 90 miles away. Any of these three, a water taxi simply is not possible, you need to look at shuttles, bus, or train, with probably a taxi for the last leg. All three of these ports are advertised as "Venice"
If you tell us the name of the cruise line, your ship, and the date of your departure, we can tell you what port you will be sailing out of. This is not a last minute decision by the cruise line.
I agree with Carol now reired. If a line is selling a cruise, then they know exactly what ports they will embark and disembark from. Tell us the ship and embarkation date and we can tell you which port, and how best to get there.
hey hey Michael
totally agree with others on this post. tell us cruise ship and date departing "venice". no water taxi unless you take one to train station venezia saint lucia and train to ship's port.
hope you know water taxi is private and cost more money. where is your hotel at? as Christine H mentions look up website for prices
aloha
Contact the cruise line or the agent who sold you the cruise. They will know exactly where the ship is docked. Some are docking outside of Venice and that will make it a longer to get there.
The cruise line said we are boarding at Chioggia which is at least 30 miles from Venice. They said to return to Marco Polo airport where we will be transferred to the ship. So all is well.
Thanks to all for the info.
