We are traveling in May. We are traveling to Lake Como, Cinque Terre and than to Venice. We will have a car that we will drop off when we get to Venice. Figure we don't want a car in venice. How long does it take to drive from Cinque Terre Region to Venice? Also, do you think there would be time to stop at Padua and see the Giotto Fresco along the way? We have to check in to the place we at staying in Venice by 6 PM.

From La Spezia to Venezia it will take slightly less than 4 hours. You take A15 to Parma, A1 to Bologna and A13 to Padova before finally taking A4 to Venezia. There is surely time for a short visit in Padova. The highway is a breeze, just make sure you follow proper instructions when navigating around Bologna so you don't get shuffled in the wrong lanes. With a GPS, it's easy.
