Does anyone know how long it takes to take a train from Arezzo to Rome? Any idea how early the trains run?
The earliest train departs Arezzo on May 27 at 4:58am. However, it goes to Rome-Tiburtina, Rome's 2nd largest train station. It's actually a night train coming from somewhere else and stopping at Arezzo. Night trains generally terminate at Tiburtina. The first train to Rome Termini departs at 6:30. It's a slower IC train and the journey will take 2hrs. The fare is 23E The third train is a Eurostar AV which is a high-speed. It departs at 7:36am. The journey takes 1hr09min. Thus, it arrives at Rome Termini 22 minutes after the 2nd train. You can see the same thing I'm seeing at www.trenitalia.com. Select English. Remember that the month and date are reversed in Italy. It's not 05/27. It's 27/05. Put 04 in the hour window so that you get the earliest trains.
Get on TrenItalia.com, change the language to English, and then look it up. For trips today, it looks like Arezzo to Rome takes 1.5 to 2 hours, and cost anywhere from 12 to 37 euro, 2nd class. If you can't get a schedule for the day you want, choose the same day of the week, but earlier and you'll get similar schedules. Often you can't purchase tickets until a sooner date.
Thank you so much for your replies. This is such a great help!! Thanks again!
