Ok we are staying Cinque Terre the last leg of our trip. We will be staying there the night before our flight out of Rome that leaves at 9:30 a.m. Will there be adequate transportation available for us to make this hop and how much time should we reserve to make that trip?
By train, it is about 4 hours from CT to Rome. You need to be at the Rome airport 3 hours before flight. I suggest you travel to Rome or the Rome airport the day before. Even if you are in Rome already, you will need to catch the Leonardo Express to the airport about 6 am. Consider a hotel at the airport, Rome.
You should really reconsider staying that far away the night before your filight home. You'll need to be at the airport by 6:30 am in order to check in for your flight. The lines in the morning can be horrendous so don't get there late or you could miss your flight. The train trip will be over 4 hours so if your train has delays or is cancelled you will miss your flight. My best suggestion is to stay in Rome or at the airport the night before your flight. Donna
Do you really, really want to roll out of the sack at one o'clock am in the morning?
Yeah......not a good idea!
thanks for the advice. We will limit our stay to two night in Cinque Terre and just head back sometime on the third day the 28th. That should be plenty of time.
Have you look at a map? CT is not a suburb of Rome. And no direct trains to the airport. What you are suggesting is not doable or smart.
Noted. That is why we are now allowing a day to get to Rome and why I asked the question. Thanks all
