Travel itinerary to Candela Italy (Foggia)/Pay-to-Move Incentive

Hello Forum members, I'm brand new, just signed up to the forum.

I welcome the following thread/advice:

  1. With my italian passport, I am evaluating retiring and relocating to Italy, with particular interest to areas in the south. One particular town interests me: Candela, in the Foggia province. I live in St Augustine, FL. What is my itinerary (departing/destination airport, local trains-bus alternatives, etc) from Northeast FL all the way to Candela Italia?
  2. Retiring to Italia has often times been a life goal, which now I wish to make good on, at this stage of life. Candela, a quaint, beautiful town, is offering various pay-to-move incentives...yet I cannot find anywhere any detail on how to apply, qualify, and receive these monies. What is best way for me to locate a local resident who can be interested to liaison for me with the Mayor's office of Nicola Gatta who is making the offer? I welcome in advance any helpful suggestions, action plan... Juan

Lucky you, having an Italian passport!

The Rome2Rio website is a good place to start when you have a thorny logistical situation like this. Unfortunately, it's really useful only for the big picture. You need to ignore all the precise information it displays (fares, travel times, frequencies), because they are frustratingly unreliable. Just look at the transportation paths it suggests, keep drilling down to see who runs those trains and buses, and go to their websites.

For transatlantic flights I use Google Flights, but there are other options. Rome is usually a comparatively cheap place to fly into, so if you're interested in seeing Rome, you could start your trip there and then travel southeast a few days later, presumably by train. And Rome2Rio is also suggesting flights into Naples as an option.
