I am arriving at Palermo airport on Sunday 12th July at about lunchtime and need to travel to Cefalu. I don't think there's a problem getting to Palermo on a Sunday but Palermo to Cefalu looks tricky. any suggestions?

Cefalu should be no problem on a Sunday. There are trains slightly after 8, 9, 10, 13,15,17, and 19 hours from centrali rail station. There is a bus from the airport to the train station (as well as other stops). When you get to Cefalu, there are plenty of taxies. Happy Travels

I checked out the viral.com website but it only gave me two trains from palermo to cefalu both before lunchtime which is too early for me

Check Trenitalia.com, there are trains at 1507, 1707, 1907 (could be a few minutes off). Journey from Palermo Centrale is less than one hour, costs about €5. You can take the airport bus from Falcone-Borsalino airport to Palermo Centrale.

Most of the trains are regional and since you can't buy them more than about a week in advance, they don't appear on schedules after that. If you look at the trenitalia.com site and put in the next Sunday, you'll see all the trains. Schedules don't change much.
