Travel Guide in Italy

Are you looking for someone to accompany you on your entire trip to do all of the translating and logistics? I might know someone but he is quite expensive.

There are genealogical societies that will provide that kind of assistance. Might start by goggling that in Italy, contact an Italian consulate or travel agency, and sometimes local genealogical societies. You might also be able to hire a researcher who would do some advance leg work for you so that your time is more productive when there.

I am looking for someone to definitely come with me, however, I'm not sure where I'm going all I know is a Surname and where roughly they are from so I'm needing someone farmilar w.the area of Naples and around that area. Yes I also need a translator since I was never taught Italian :)

Jenn, Having a Guide accompany you for the entire trip could be VERY expensive, as you'd not only have to pay for the Guide's time but also their lodgings and transportation (since you'll likely be travelling to different locations). I may also be doing some genealogical research in Italy or the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland at some point, but will probably just try it on my own. Many people in Italy speak at least some Engllish, and I can function to some extent in Italian, so hopefully that will be enough. I'm currently taking another Italian course, which will hopefully improve my abilities. You might check to find out if there are any Italian courses being offered in your area.
