Travel from Viking cruise ship in Fusina to hotel in venice

My wife and I will be extending our travel to Venice for 2 days after our Viking cruise ship docks in Fusina in September. We will also need transportation from our hotel to the airport in Venice after our 2 day stay.

We booked our post extension ourselves because travel through Viking was already full.

Suggestions for transportation each way would be appreciated.

You are wise to avoid the ship’s expensive add ons to their cruises. Venice has outlawed cruise ships to protect its historic buildings.
See if Trip Advisor can give you info on getting from that port into Venice.
To get to the airport from Venice you can take a private water taxi, the Alliguna or get a bus at Piazzale Roma. Your hotel can help you with this.

Have you checked the CruiseCritic roll call for your Viking cruise? There are likely other folks on the same cruise who are having to arrange for Fusina-Venice transfers. You may find suggestions or even folks arranging for less expensive group transfers.

As far as transport from your Venice hotel to the airport, you didn't indicate which hotel you are at and that can make a difference. I'd suggest that you contact the hotel and ask them what your options will be. They deal with this question every day and can give you all the possible options.

From Fusina to Venice, # 16 ferry line. 25 minutes. Check with your cruise about location of ferry dock.

We did a VIking cruise that ended in Venice last month (for us it was Chioggia, rather than Fusina) and also arranged our own post cruise excursion in Venice. While on the cruise, we received a notice that offered to provide transportation to Venice from the port for $49 each. We opted to do that, and it was very easy. No idea what the cost difference might be from Fusina.

As far as to the airport, there were airport transport passes for around 10 euros for sale at the kiosks next to the vaporetto. We took the train to Rome after Venice, but did notice these.
