Travel from Venice to Padua

Hello!

We are arriving in Venice via cruise ship and need to get to Padua (or Valdobbiadene) as quickly as possible. I've been told the train is the fastest route. How do we get from the ship to the train station? Which train station? Thank you!

Yes, train is very fast, especially if you take the high-speed train.

Venezia Santa Lucia is the train station. It is not far from the cruise port. Details here.

If you are looking for the town of Valdobbiadene, it is not near Padua, but north of Venice. You will want to take a train from Venezia Santa Lucia to Castelfranco Veneto and change to a train to Alano-Fener-Valdobbiadene. They go generally at 56 past the hour, depending on the day of the week. Takes 1 hour and 40 minutes. Cost is 6.45 euro. Schedule at www.trenitalia.com. Be sure to use the actual Italian station names, Venezia S. Lucia and Alano-Fener-Valdobbiadene.
