Travel from Venice post cruise

I am getting off a cruise in Ravenna (Venice). I would like to travel for a week or so before going home. Flight home is not planned yet but I am assuming Rome. I have been to Venice, Florence, Rome so I would like to see other places.
I am also considering other areas. In other words I am kinda wide open

Maybe the Dolomites and Trieste or the Lakes? Or Milan and then up into Piedmont and the Turin area, I believe the latter is not so overwhelmed with tourism, attractive city, close to mountains and the coast is the northern part of the Italian Riviera and you could also go into France.

If you fly from Rome, you could consider Naples area (Naples, Amalfi coast, Pompeii, Capri, etc.).
Also, if you have visited Florence only in Tuscany, you could consider other locations in Tuscany. Siena for example could be a good base to see many Tuscan towns. A car would be more efficient to see smaller towns and rural areas, but Siena is the bus hub for all locations in its province, so you could visit many towns by bus from Siena.
Whichever place you decide to visit, you need to make sure that the night before your flight home you should stay in the city you depart from (Rome, if you indeed depart from Rome)
The places suggested by the previous commenter are in Northern Italy. If you consider those then it’s best to fly back to the US from a northern airport (Milan or Venice are the main international airports in the north). However if you are considering a non stop flight back to Miami, I think Milan and Rome are the only options, with either American Airlines or ITA Airways (Rome only).
