Looking for advice on the best mode of transportation between Varece and Milan. If train is best and information on the train line is available please provide as well.

If you mean Varese, then www.trenord.it operates the direct train (1 hour) between Varese Nord and Milano Cadorna station. Buy tickets locally.

Varese has actually two stations: "Varese Nord" with service to Milano Cadorna and "Varese" with service to Milano Porta Garibaldi (some suburban trains going on the Passante underground railway and servicing several undergroung stops in Milan). The two stations service two different local railway lines that till a few years ago were managed by different operators but now are both run by trenord.it. The two stations are quite close; the Varese Nord service is marginally cheaper. Probably the best choice is the train that brings you closer to your Milan final destination.
