Travel from Trastevere to Rome cruise port

W will be staying in the Trastevere area of Rome before our cruise on May 16th. Looking at car service to the Civitavecchia port, it is around $150 euros. Do not want to take train dealing with luggage and walking from station to the cruise terminal. Does anyone know if there is any share ride service that may be less expensive?
Thanks!

The car service we took in 2014 was €120 so €150 11 years later seems pretty good.

It may be worthwhile checking with your cruise line to see if they have a transfer service to the ship that would work for you. No doubt they have one from airport to ship, but they may also have one from Rome proper that you could connect with.

It is a direct train from Trastevere to Civatavecchia and it will cost you 9.20 EUR per person. Add taxis to and from the stations and it will be less than a car service. But if that is what you want, open up the wallet. It costs the same as a water taxi from Venice airport to the island and nobody seems to blink an eye at that.

another option to research:
register on cruisecritic.com
look for roll call, your cruise ship, date and forums. post a question if any other cruisers want to share a taxi from your area to port. know where your ship docks and how close will taxi drop you off to boarding, can taxi hold 4 with luggage. heard some buses, trains & shuttles are further away with having to pull bags a ways.
years back took a taxi from piazza navona area for 140E. it was bad with a student protest happening, all roads blocked with cops everywhere. lucky to find taxi and pay the cost, many people missed ship and had to fly to Barcelona. It was an ugly scene.
if you find someone to share, pick meeting place & reserve taxi (you cannot hail from street, go to taxi stop),
we had cash euros + tip. you’re traveling during high season & jubilee 2025, will be so so crowded & busy.
we did this during cruise stops, hiring taxi/tour company, first come first serve to answer forum post, wanted small group 4-6 and enjoyed all out private tours, cheaper for our pockets.

useful info to let you know how many ships in port for arrivals & departures check date, port lets you know for all ports. you could have 3-5 ships which means 10-20 thousand people wanting or hoping to do the same as you. it’s a lot to think about but be prepared, you’ll run Into lots of grumpy/pushy/unprepared, been there done that. learned my lesson.
lots of great/fun memories, spending more than expected but our motto was “will eat lots of beans & rice” when we get back home. just enjoy your holiday, not worth stressing “stressed spelled backwards is desserts!” have them all, and of course gelato. have fun & have a great cruise

It used to be travel agents, apologizing to their clients about how hard it is to get to the cruise port from Rome. Now that everybody does their own bookings on the Internet, it's a horrifying discovery how far it is to Civitavecchia. People in the car service business know what the prevailing rate is for a common service in their area. If you're not interested in the less expensive train option, you really have to deal with a long-standing situation.

We have sometimes stumbled on a one free transfer/airport or Civitavecchia, with a three-night hotel booking. But of course, those are not the cheapest hotels. You can't have it both ways.
