Travel from the US to Italy

We are traveling to Italy from the United States in November. Can we apply to the EU digital certificate?

As of now no mechanism for that
As of now your CDC card will suffice

I'm currently in Italy and showing our CDC card has worked for us (and we've only been asked when we've gone inside).
