travel from the airport

What's the best, and cheapest, way to get from Da Vinci airport into Rome? Six of us, all adults, will be there in February, with one small suitcase each. Our hotel is the Arenula.

Stacy, since you are a large group (the train costs 11 Euro per person) you may want to research taking a shuttle van service instead. There have been many discussions about this, so you could do a search of the forum.

stacy,
The best and cheapest way would be to use a private limosine service. I have used this one with good results http://www.romeshuttlelimousine.eu/fiumicino.html
but there are several others.

A limo will take you to the hotel for about 60 euro. The train will take you to termini and then you will need two taxis.

I would suggest sharing a large taxi or limo service as you can probably get a cheaper price for 6 than the train and it would be more convenient. However, if you are really on that tight a budget, there is a bus from the airport to the Cornelia Metro station. We took it from Cornelia to the airport as we were staying at a place right by there. It was about €4 for each of us I believe in October. It took about 70 minutes.

i always advise taking the train, a GREAT way to "decompress". BUT if there are SIX of you, i'd take henry's advice... a limo for 60 euro as opposed to 66euro per train.
