We are staying near Siena and will be traveling to Rome. We can drop our car off in Florence or Siena. Should we take the train from Florence or Siena to get to Rome? This is a bit confusing. We would rather use the train than bus.

From Florence the train will take about 1.5 hours, from Siena about 3 hours. From Florence it will cost more and you may have problems finding the return without violating ZTL.
