Travel from Rome to Sorento with stop in Pompeii

I want to travel from Rome to Sorento with a stop in Pompeii. What is the best web site to buy my tickets from Rome to Naple? Can I buy ticket from Naples to Sorento on line?
We want to stop in Pompeii but will have luggage, is there a place to store luggage at the train stop in Pompeii?

We took slow train from Rome to Naples to save money, was half price. Be sure to validate ticket before you get on train at little machine as you approach tracks. We bought tickets at train station. Same thing in Naples, just bought ticket at station. Seem to remember 22 euro to Naples and about 5 euro to Sorrento. Get off at second Pompeii stop, maybe someone else can help you with luggage storage. Enjoy.

There are 3 types of trains that run on the same tracks from Rome to Naples. The Eurostar Alta Velocita FRECCIAROSSA (ESAV) (fast train), the intercity (IC) train and the Regionale train. The ESAV train takes 1hr10min and costs 45E. You can get mini-fares on www.trenitalia.com online if you book early. This will lock you in to a specific train and departure time. The IC train takes double the travel time but costs 1/2 the fare of the ESAV (22E). Finally, you have the Regionale Veloce. This train makes every stop. Travel time is 2hrs20min and costs 10.50E. No discounts on the Regionale. No seat reservations either. Don't worry about full Regionale trains. You can stand. At Naples, you go downstairs and buy a ticket on the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento. You probably should buy two tickets - one from Naples to Pompei-Scavi and one from Pompei-Scavi to Sorrento. Don't worry. They are open tickets and you can get on the next train through. These trains do run a bit crowded so watch your luggge. Very cheap tickets (3.5E from Naples to Sorrento). I don't think you can buy them online. There is no luggage storage at the Pompei-Scavi train station. However, there is reportedly staffed left luggage storage inside the main entrance at the ruins.

When we visited Pompeii a couple of years ago, there was a luggage storage office right by the entrance turnstiles, just like Larry describes.
