This is our first time in Italy and we are trying to figure out what is the best way to get from Reggio Calabria to Salerno by public transportation. Does anyone know the easiest / fastest way to go?? Thanks for your help!
The easiest and quickest method will likely be via train. There are numerous departures from Reggio Calabria Centrale to Salerno. Many are direct but there are a few with one change (the direct trains are always easier). Most of the trains are fast trains (Intercity, Freccia), which have compulsory reservations specific to train, date and departure time.
How are you getting to Reggio Calabria?
As this is your first time in Italy, there are some potentially expensive "caveats" to be aware of when using trains, buses, metro or other public transit in Italy. If you need more information, post another note here.
There is a train from Reggio C. To Salerno, less than four hours, super-economy fare available for under €20 each. No train changes.
