My wife and I are traveling from Rapalo to Sorrento and need to arrive in Sorrento as early as possible to avoid a large euro penalty between 50 and 100 depending on how late we arrive. Any ideas? We are planning on using the train and bus system. Thanks in advance.

Rome2rio.com shows four hours+ by train, changing in Roma Termini and Napoli Centrale, from Rapallo to Sorrento. Trains leave Rapallo every 2 hours or so, trains leave Rome about every hour. Last leg is on the Circumvesuviana. An alternative would be to take a bus from Napoli to Sorrento - rome2rio.com has links to bus and train schedules.
