Travel from Piazza Farnese in Rome to Ostia Antica

Hello! Some final questions before my trip Tuesday!

I was looking at Google Maps for possible transportation between these two locations. Uber costs $50 each way. I don't really like that price. I was trying to find trains or buses but I seem to be a bit confused. I know in one of Rick's episodes he mentions a "quick train ride" so I was wondering what train he was talking about. Has anyone taken this trip before? And if so, what is the best way to travel there? Metro? Is there a train or bus? Any information would be very helpful.

I don't know where PiazzaFarnese is but take local transportation (bus, metro) to Porta San Paolo Station also the Piramide stop on the Metro and the train from there. It is quick and easy. Cannot miss it as the train starts from that station and is the only train. The description in the Rome guidebook is very clear.

Did you try “directions” feature on google maps? Looks like bus 23, transfer at piramide station to train that drops you right at Ostia Antica in about one hour which includes walking time. Price would be substantially less than Uber, I think one euro fifty. Try that and see if it works. Don’t be afraid of mass transit in Rome. It’s fast, affordable and frequent enough that if you miss a connection, there will be another in just a few minutes.
