Travel from northern Italy or Switzerland to Greek Islands

Hello All, my family of four (two adult kids) are going to Italy and Greece for two weeks in June. we arrive in Milan and we will spend the first night there. we will then head to Verona for a few nights. we want to take the Bernina Express through the Swiss Alps. we will probably spend a night in Switzerland before heading to the Greek Islands. we are trying to figure out the best way of getting to Santorini or Naxos. Should we fly from Zurich to Athens or go back to Milan to get a flight to Athens? Do we have to go to Athens to connect for a flight to the islands? Does anyone have a better suggestion? Thank you!

Here’s a little trick I’ve used for years for flight planning.
Google kayak.
If the mobile app comes up click “go to desktop”.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “direct”. If you don’t see it click on “more” and direct should be one of the choices.
Direct gives you all the direct flights from any city.
Type in Zurich or Milan or work backwards and type in Santorini.
You will find that Easyjet has nonstop daily flights from Milan to Santorini
And twice a week flights from Zurich.
No need to stop in Athens!
Just go to the airline website and see what the prices are.
