I am trying to find the best way to to travel from Naples to the St. Filumena Shrine in Mugnano del Cardinale. We will be departing from Rome and taking the train to the Napoli Centrale station. This is where it gets fuzzy for me. According to the directions on the Shrine's website at http://www.philomena.us/, you can take the train from Naples to Baiano, or one of the blue buses to Avellino. I've checked the Trenitalia website; it lists a destination for "Baiano de Spoleto", but not Baiano. I don't think these are the same destinations. My reasoning for this is that Mapquest indicates it is a 27 mile journey from Naples to Baiano; the train schedule shows that the train would take you back through Rome, to Baiano de Spoleto and the trip would take about 3 hours(!) I'm not sure which company runs the blue buses, and I'd like to be able to check the bus schedule online (if possible.) The Shrine is a 3 hour drive from Rome. We are planning to travel there on Sunday, September 16, 2012. We are supposed to let the Shrine know when we expect to be at the train station in Baiano, so they can arrange transportation for us from the station to the Shrine. I want to be able to give them a fairly accurate arrival time, but at this point, I'm just not sure. If possible, I'd like to schedule the transportation/transfer times so they are fairly close and we don't have to wait for an extended length of time at the station. If anyone can offer any assistance, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
