My family and I will be staying in Naples for a few days in late December and then will be going to Avellino (Lioni) for a few days. We want to have a car in Avellino so that we can explore easily. Would appreciate advice on how to do this. Rent a car at the Naples airport? Take a train from Naples to Salerno and rent a car? Take a train from Naples into some town in Avellino and rent a car there for the Avellino leg of the trip? I have no idea how bad the traffic in the Naples airport area out of town.
