Hi. My daughter will be flying into Naples in June and will meet the rest of our family in Sorrento. Do you know if it is possible for her to board a train to Sorrento from the airport in Naples? Or does she need to go from the Naples airport to the central train station in order to catch the train to Sorrento? She will be with her young son, so I'm trying to make things as easy as possible for her. Thank you for any information you can give me with this question.

there is no train at the Naples airport. She could take a taxi to the train station and a train from there. However what I recommend is taking the bus from the airport direct to Sorrento. See https://www.curreriviaggi.it/en/naples-airport-shuttle if one of the buses listed on the schedule works for her.

Yeah, your options are a bus direct from the airport (though frequency is not always ideal). Taxi, bus, or shared ride from the airport to Napoli Centrale, then the commuter Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento, then any number of options involving private drivers, ferries, or whatever your pocketbook can bear.
