Travel from Naples Airport to Praiano

Hello again,
We received a quote of 120 euros from the B&B in Praiano for a private transfer from the Naples airport. I know there is a train/bus connection & also taxi options. Does anyone have any personal experience doing either. The private transfer seems a bit expensive. Also, when we leave we will have to get transportation from Sorrento to the Hotel Tiber in Fiumicino..any thoughts on that as well!
As always, thanks for your time and help!
Kindly,
Nancy

You can start with Rome2Rio to see what your options are. They also show costs.

The Circumvesuviana runs every half-hour or so from the lower level of Napoli Centrale station. Then you have a choice of bus or taxi to Praiano.

I know there is a bus from the airport to Napoli Centrale but I don't know if there is a bus from the airport to Sorrento. Perhaps someone else can help with that info.

The Alibus runs from Capodicino airport to the train station http://www.unicocampania.it/?lang=en&center=inside&colonna=turisti&action=alibus

Circumvesuvian is the train that runs from Napoli Centrale to Sorrento

Ferry runs from Naples port-Sorrento. Alibus-port-ferry-Sorrento-Bus-Praiano.

Hope this helps.

Nancy, I think the quoted price is about right for Naples to Praiano. Remember that the car and driver need to go back to Naples, very possibly without a fare for that. Of course the benefits of a private car are more comfort, probably better views, faster transit, and door-to-door service without any hassle of connections, hauling baggage or needing to walk to your hotel from other transportation. Then of course, the cost is the cost, It's probably a great deal for 4 people, and gets pricier as the number of people involved goes down. In May I arranged a taxi from my B & B in Naples directly to my hotel outside of Sorrento for €100, a good splurge I thought. It enabled me to have a full morning and lunch in Naples, then be exploring Sorrento by mid-to-late afternoon. My hotel clearly was further outside of Sorrento than the driver expected, and he seemed pleased when I gave him an additional €5. I understand there is a periodic direct bus with baggage below from the Naples airport to Sorrento, and you could get a taxi from there, maybe saving a little money. Others here likely have details.

How many people traveling?
I don't think you can find a private transfer for under €100. That's the minimum rate I found for Positano.
You basically have two choices, a cheap one and a convenient one:
1.Curreri bus from Airport to Sorrento (10 euro/pp) then a SITA bus from Sorrento to Praiano (under 5 euro/pp)
2. Private transfer door to door. At over 100 euro for up to 3 people (with a minivan shuttle at predetermined times with the company below).

From Sorrento to Fiumicino the cheapest way is circumvesuviana train to Naples then train Napoli-Roma and finally bus or taxi to Fiumicino (city).
A private transfer from sorrento all the way to Fiumicino will cost you at least 350 euro.
