Travel from Morgex, Italy to the Varenna-Esino-Perledo train station

Could someone confirm for me if I understand the directions from Rome2Rio to get from Morgex in the Aosta Valley to the Varenna-Esino-Perledo train station in Varenna?

I take the 8:50 am bus to get to Milano - Lampugnano 1. This seems to be a metro and bus station.
I arrive at 12:15 pm and have 37 minutes to transfer to Train Line 1 (is it a train or a metro?) at 12:52.

This gets me to Cadorna Fn M1 at 1:02 pm.
I then have 3 minutes to transfer to Cadorna Fn M2.

I depart Cadorna FnM2 at 1:06 pm and in 9 minutes arrive at Centrale Fs at 1:15pm.
I then have 4 minutes to transfer to Milano Centrale and take the 1:20 to arrive at Varenna-Esino-Perledo at 2:24 pm.

That all sounds lovely, but obtaining tickets and getting to the right location could present some challenges.

Am I taking one bus (to Milano), and then two metro rides to the train station? And then I take the train for the last leg and I imagine signs will help me find the train station and where to go at the train station.
I assume I can get a bus ticket easily in Morgex (on the bus or in a shop?). How do I get metro tickets and do I just need one? Has the metro system gone contactless or do I need to go to a kiosk to buy a metro ticket (or two)? I assume I buy the train ticket in advance. I have used the Trenitalia app in the past and it was easy.

There is a later train I could take instead of the 1:20 to give myself more time to find the station and the right train as four minutes sounds difficult.

Thank you to anyone who can help me with my questions. I have found on three other trips to Italy that public transportation works well although the Naples train station took some effort to navigate.

Metro runs continuously, every 3-5 minutes. You won't have to wait 37 minutes at Lampugnano, while there is no way at Centrale to get from metro tracks to rail tracks in 4 minutes (maybe in 6, if you already have railway tickets).
A single metro ticket is good for transfers between lines.

I checked the goggle maps suggested directions. Google maps gave several possibilities all that seemed more confusing than what I outlined above. I am traveling September 12 so the train schedule isn't available yet. I also have to get from Turin to Pont St. Martin (I am going on a hiking trip) on September 5. That doesn't seem straightforward either.

This is going to take some time to figure out.

Thank you for the metro information. If I choose a travel option using the metro to get from a bus station to a train station in Milan, that is good to know.

There doesn't seem to be a train leaving from Aosta towards Turin, although a bus may be available to the train station in Ivrea and then you can get to the Turin bus station and onto the Turin train station. I was trying to plan a trip where I didn't have to spend a whole day taking buses and trains, but that's what I may be doing.

Getting from Milan to Varenna seems easy but the proprietor of the Varenna hotel I want to stay in wants to know when I am arriving. That's to be determined.
