We are honeymooning in Italy next month - will be staying 4 nights in Montepulciano and then traveling down to Amalfi Coast, staying in Positano. We are renting a car for our stay in Tuscany but are planning on returning the car before we get to Positano because we feel we won't need it on the coast.
Looking for advice on the best way to get between Montepulciano and Positano. The two options I have come across are dropping off the car in Rome and taking the train to Naples, regional train to Sorrento and then ferry or SITA bus to Positano (which seems like a lot of steps!) versus driving to Sorrento and then taking the ferry or bus to Positano. The car rental place is on Corso Italia 261/B, looks like it is close to Marina Piccola, which is where I think we can take the ferry but I'm not sure about that. Can anyone tell me where we could pick up the bus to Positano in Sorrento? We will have all our luggage with us so hopefully would within walking distance from the car rental... are we able to bring luggage onto the SITA bus? Any other ideas for easier way to get from Montepulciano to Positano? Thanks!
