What is the fastest way to get from Montepulciano to catch an 11:30 flight from florence.

What day of the week are you traveling?
Driving is going to be the fastest method, but assuming that is not an option then there are some train or train / bus combinations that would theoretically get you to Florence SMN that morning. Then you’d need to get to the airport. They all require transfers somewhere and some have tight connections.
Trenitalia website is a good resource- keeping in mind that the station in Montepulciano is not next to the historic town so you’re going to need to get there.

If you don't have a car, attempting this on the day of departure is very high risk, since it would require multiple changes taking 3+ hours. And you would need to be at the airport by 0930. Consider getting to Florence the evening before.

The fastest and probably only way is leaving on a car no later than 7:00am; I am afraid there is not an easy and risk-free public transportation option delivering you at 9:30 at FLR. There could a bus/train/train combination leaving before than 6:00am but if you miss a change you have a big problem. Consider spending the night in Florence. Tackling the same trip without the hurry and the risk would make a big difference.

If you have a rental car you can make it in less than 2 hours. Make sure you allow time for returning the car at the car rental center and take the shuttle to the terminal.
I wouldn’t attempt it by public transportation.
Having said that I prefer to spend the night before a flight in the city where I’m flying out of (or very near). In this case I would probably stay in Florence.
