We will be arriving at Malpensa Airport (mid-day and mid-week) and would like to take public transportation to Stresa. I did not find any recent suggestions on this topic. Does anyone have any suggestions? Many thanks for any assistance.
There is bus service from Malpensa airport to Stresa. Cost is 12 EUR per person. schedule:

Lauren,
The Alibus from Malpensa directly to Stresa is very convenient.
Make sure you book in advance.
When I visited Lake Maggiore, I’d booked my ticket for the Alibus for a specific time, however, my flight arrived earlier than expected so I was able to catch the earlier bus. This was only possible because there were seats available. [The Alibus is a large van so there aren’t as many seats as in a regular bus]
I see that their website has improved; they’ve now added a photo showing the location of the bus stop.
Enjoy your trip!
Not sure when u are traveling but #shoulder season has marginal public transit from Stresa.
Lauren,
If the bus isn't running for whatever reason, you could also take a taxi from Malpensa to Gallarate (~15 minutes), and then train from there to Stresa (~50 minutes).
Besides the bus suggested above, there is the train option from Gallarate, a major town near the airport.
Gallarate train station can be reached in 25 minutes and cheaply by bus or in just 10-15 min by taxi, but not as cheaply (up to 30€).
Once in Gallarate, the train ride to Stresa is 35 min and costs 5€. Trains are pretty frequent (every half hour or so).
If you decide to rent a car, the drive to Stresa is about 45 minutes.
Thank you all, so very much! That is very helpful information!
