Travel from Lauterbrunnen Switzerland to Venice

Hello everyone,
I am having some trouble figuring out exactly the best way to get from Lauterbrunnen to Venice on Tuesday, June 20th. We were thinking we would like to take a train, but I am having trouble finding options that I can actually purchase. Does anyone have any advice? We would like to leave fairly early in the morning (7:00am or so). Alternatively, we could take the train to Zurich and then fly to Venice, I suppose. Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks!
Daniel

Look up train times on the SBB website: http://www.sbb.ch/en/home.html
I just did so and got the following:

Lauterbrunnen dep 07:03, Interlaken Ost arr 07:24
Interlaken Ost dep 07:29, Spiez arr 07:50
Spiez dep 08:05, Milano Centrale arr 10:37
Milano Centrale dep 11:45, Venezia S. Lucia arr 14:10

Buying tickets is slightly more complicated. You could buy the tickets on the SBB website, or wait until you get to Switzerland and buy at a manned Swiss station.
Or, split the purchase, Lauterbrunnen to border (Domodossola) at SBB, from there to Venice at Trenitalia. This may be cheaper than doing the complete trip on SBB, as SBB does not have all the cheap Italian tickets..

I would just take the train to Zurich and then fly to Venice. By train there are quite a few transfers between Lauterbrunnen and Venice which means hauling luggage between trains and platforms four or five times at least. Doesn't sound fun to me and probably won't save you enough money to make it worth it.

There are two changes to Venice by train once you get out of the mountains, at Spiez and at Milan. Spiez is easy and Milan is really easy because everything is on the same level. The train station in Venice puts you down right at the edge of the Grand Canal.

I don't see where that is much harder than changing at Zurich to the train to Zurich airport and then having to get from the airport near Venice onto a bus and then onto a vaporetto. In fact I suggest that the train is simpler.

And no hanging around airports, no luggage issues.
