I will be traveling from Innsbruck to Madonna di Campiglio, a small town in the Brenta Dolomites west of Trento, on Saturday September 2. I do not have a car and hope to use public transportation. I see that I can take a train to either Trento or Mezzocorona. However, I am not able to confirm if bus service is available from either Trento or Mezzocorona to Madonna di Campiglio. The website www.trentinotrasporti.it
which I presume is for the local bus service, does not appear to be working. Can you advise how best to travel from Trento or Mezzocorona to Madonna di Campiglio?
You are right. The site does not seem to be working right now.
I did cobble together possibilities by consulting first Google Maps then Moovit https://moovitapp.com/index/en/public_transit-lines-Trento_e_Belluno-1903-775405. Definitely go from Trento to Madonna di Campiglio. Via Mezzocorna it seems you have to take a train to Trento anyway.
At Moovit, you can search for bus schedules by line as I deduced on Maps. It’s a long trip but doable. FWIW, we find public transportation planned in Google Maps to be quite dependable, with a few exceptions.
Have fun!
Personally, I'd hire a car service at the station in Trento to take you there. You are probably looking at €70 to get there. For economy, the bus is best. I think you can catch the B201 near the station in Trento and that should take you to your destination. We were in the region in May of this year.
I did this trip a few years ago from Venice. Train to Trento then bus to Madonna di Campiglio. I don't know where your hotel is, but I was at the San Raphael and the bus dropped me 100 meters from the hotel.
