Travel from Florence to Passignano Sul Trasimeno

Hi,
My Daughter's destination wedding is at Villa San Crispolto, nearest Passignano Sul Trasimeno. I am trying to get my travel plans together and am told to fly in to Florence. I'm exploring train travel from Florence to P.S.T. and on return as well. Can anyone
point me in the right direction re making arrangements/ scheduling/checking fares/ and obtaining tickets? I think train would be cheaper than car rental. I'd like to stay in Florence the day before returning to Boston.... any hotel suggestions.
I am a senior traveling alone and am very conscious of the risks safety-wise.... Any advice appreciated.

Plenty of trains, sometimes changing in Terontola-Cortona, sometimes direct. Go to trenitalia.com, enter Italian station names (i.e. Firenze, not Florence). As trains are all regional, you cannot reserve and probably tickets are better bought on the spot.

As to the safety issue, I've traveled to Italy 4 times and have never felt unsafe, even in dodgy seeming areas in Rome. I've gone off on my own many times during these trips, always felt safe. I am a woman in my mid fifties. I would think that your hotel, whichever one you choose, could advise you of any potential risky areas. Also, wear a money belt for valuables. I never carry a hand or shoulder bag when traveling in Italy.
