Best travel scenario, IMHO, is take a train to Milano Centrale, then change to a local train to Varenna. Stay there a couple of days, or take the short ferry to Bellagio and stay there. Then from Varenna take the train to Tirano and change to the Bernina Express over the Alps to Pontresina. stay there a couple of days, then train to Luzern with a couple of changes along the way. Then direct train to Zurich.

If that is too much time, and you just want to "see" Lake Como, take the train from Milano Centrale to the city of Como. If you want to stay there a while, maybe stay in nearby Cernobbio. Then you can take a train from Como to Luzern. If you want to make it a scenic journey, you can change trains in Lugano and take the Gotthard Panorama Express that uses an older route mostly over the Alps and ends with the final leg as a boat ride on the lake to Luzern.

You have a lot of options.

You can take a train to Milan and transfer to Varenna. To get to Luzern, take a train to Monza and transfer there. You can take 1h direct train from Luzern to Zurich. Check www.bahn.com.

When are you going? Currently Milan is the center of a Coronavirus outbreak.
