Travel from Cinque Terre to Pisa

Hello everyone... I am researching travel options between Monterosso (Cinque Terre) to Pisa. I have looked at the Train schedule and it seems like there are not good options on doing this in a timely manner. Are there any suggestions on how to get from point A to point B? Bus? Taxi? etc... We will be there in September 2014.

Grazie!

Don't know what you mean not good options - You have 19 trains a day ranging from IC at an hour 15 or so to Regionale taking an hour 50. Just go to trenitalia.com, click the British flag and you can find your schedules. The schedules have been up at least two weeks so don't why the reference to June 15. You can buy IC tickets on line but do not buy Regionale tickets on-line. Wait till you are at the station.

I just traveled from Pisa to LaSpezia and many of the trains continue on to Monterosso. You will have lots of choices.

Cristine,

As the others have mentioned, there are LOTS of trains on that route every day, and travel by train will provide the most "timely manner".

Which "train schedules" are you looking at? If the schedules for September aren't displaying now, just check a day within the next week or so, on the same day-of-the-week that you'll be travelling and that should provide a good idea. The schedules likely won't change much between now and September.

Travel times between Monterosso and Pisa Centrale vary from ~1H:13 - 2H:08M, depending on which train you choose. There are a few direct trains (no changes) that take about 1H:18M. Some of the trains on that route will be InterCity (reservations compulsory) and some will be Regionale (no reservations but you MUST validate your ticket prior to boarding the train on the day of travel, or face hefty fines).

I've done this several times. I just go to the train station the day before and get tickets. Like others said, there are many options!
