Travel from central Rome to Civitavecchia

I don't want to take the train from Roma Termini due to luggage, nor do I want to take a taxi due to cost.Any suggestions such as a car service for my party of four and approximate cost. Thanks Steve

A car service will be as expensive as a taxi especially if you have to use a van which may be required if you have excessive luggage. The train service is cheap and convenient unless you have more luggage than you can easily handle. We have been on four cruises out of Rome and always use the train but for the two of us we only have three carry on size bags that are easy to handle - two backpack style and one rolling bag. The 150E or more cited above is reasonably accurate. And that is Euro, not dollars. Civit is a long ways from Rome - over an hour via car. The trai is really your best option so work on your luggage.

Thank you Donna and Frank, car service in a van is what I will do, expensive but will allow us more time to sightsee and less anxiety regarding getting to ship on time

We've used romecabs.com a number of times and have always been pleased. They do have van type vehicles for those with lots of luggage. Check out their web site, send them and email, and they will be happy to give you a quote. TC

I will use their website and sent them an e mail as my hotel wanted me to advise them on amounts of luggage. A van would be better than a car since I don't want to ride 50 miles with a suitcase on my lap! Thanks TC
