We are traveling from Naples to the Amalfi Coast using a hired driver. What is the best way to travel back to Naples for a different scenic enjoyable experience?

Gordon and Karen, The best way would be to do this as a loop. The Amalfi coast is east-west, so you could come in on the east end from Naples starting at Maiori, and then leave from the Positano / Sorrento end. Cheers!

"What is the best way to travel back to Naples for a different scenic enjoyable experience?" Depending on where you'll be leaving from on the Amalfi coast, it should be possible to return to Naples by ferry or hydrofoil. This will give you a much different scenic - as well as a fun - experience.

Check the schedule before you go- the hydrofoil idea sounded good to us, but we found that the last boat left before the last bus. If we had realized that ahead of time we would have taken the hydrofoil down and the bus back. Instead we took the bus round trip. However...the coastline may be prettier from the water at sunset if you plan ahead and get there in time.
We carried our luggage with us (carry-on size) and at one point the bus was so crowded we had to hold it, but I was worried about stowing it underneath. -Kathy
