Travel from airport to lodgings in Florence Italy

Hello,

What would be the best way to get from the airport to our lodgings? I will be arriving in Florence on the 18th of March and will be the first of my group to arrive . The others in my group will be arriving about 3-4 hours later. My second trip to Italy but my first where I've traveled alone so I'm a bit nervous.

Thank you!

The airport is really close to town, a taxi ride is economical at atound 25 Euros (I did it the opposite direction in November 2016). I'm not normally a big proponent of taxis but it worked great. When you pick up your guidebook I am sure they will list public transit options too (I understand you may not have gotten that far in your planning, but your trip is just days away so it's time for that step!)-there is surely a bus and the bus station is very central in Florence.

Addendum: From Rick Steve's Italy 2016: Shuttle buses (to the far right as you exit the arrivals hall) connect the airport with Florence's train and bus stations. (2/hour, 30 minutes, runs 5:00-23:30, 6 Euros). Sounds like it could not be easier!

Thank you all! I've left this rather late haven't i? I was not sure if a taxi or a bus would be the best way. We are staying at an Airbnb in the city. Should have mentioned that earlier!

It's been a while, but we took the bus from the airport. The bus station in town is just a few minutes walk from the Duomo area.

I don't remember how much the bus cost, but I don't remember having any trouble finding it our finding our way from there to our hotel near Ponte Vecchio.

The two options are bus and taxi. Look at where your lodgings are in relation to where the bus drops you off, which is shown on this map:

https://www.google.it/maps/place/Via+Santa+Caterina+da+Siena,+17,+50123+Firenze/@43.7752837,11.2445296,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x132a56aed338b321:0x3a8be7b789496834!8m2!3d43.7752837!4d11.2467183

If the bus drop off is not far from where you are staying, and you feel up to using it when you arrive, take the bus. Otherwise, take a taxi.

Taxi takes you straight to your lodging for 22€ plus bag charges (1€ per piece).
The bus (called Volainbus) is only 6€ but takes you to the train station. So it depends on how far your lodging is from the station. If walking distance, then the bus is good. If you need a taxi from the station, then you might as well take the taxi from the start at the airport.

Thank you all! I was a bit nervous but it worked out well. Took a taxi as it was easiest to find the airbnb where we were staying. Did not need another taxi or bus in Florence as where we stayed was so convenient!! Loved Florence! We took the train to Naples (business class, highly recommend this) and the 5 of us shared a private car to Positano. The weather was excellent and we were able to take a boat to Capri and a bus to Sorrento. Fabulous trip and would love to visit again! I must say that the public transportation was fantastic! Certainly missed it when I returned home! Thank you all again for your suggestions and help!
