We're going to a camp near the Italian Alps in beginning of August (near Olivone Switzerland) and have a week to travel afterwards. I have never been to Europe. I love nature and also art. Any suggestions of where to go in that short time. I'm thinking possibly Cinque Terre, Lake Como, Milan. Is this too much to squeeze in. I could fly out of anywhere.
Three places are too many in a week. The Cinque Terre is magnificent but will be crowded so get a reservation as soon as possible. You could "do" the CT and Lago di Como in a week (3 nights each) and then the 7th night in Milan to fly out. Milan in August is a ghost town. If you want to see some art, check to make certain the museums you are interested in are open.
